LA Sanitation & Environment services four colors of automated bins at residential homes:
- Black bin (for household refuse)
- Blue bin (for recyclables)
- Green bin (for yard trimmings)
- Brown bin (for horse manure)
For single family residences, bins must be placed at the curb by 6 am on the day of collection, and removed no later than 8 pm on the day of collection. If you’re able, please place bins 6-12 inches apart and 6-12 inches from the curb or other solid objects.
If your bins are broken or missing, please call the 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489. Please have your bin number handy if possible. It’s located on the bin.
